Sundance and the United States, prepare to enter the “Ghostland”.

RLJE Films has acquired the U.S. rights to Sion Sono‘s (right) English-language debut, Prisoners of the Ghostland, which will makes its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.

The film stars Nicolas Cage as a notorious bank robber in the town of Samurai Town only to get an offer he can’t refuse. He must retrieve the granddaughter of the Governor within three days of the suit he is strapped to will self-destruct. If he succeeds, he will be a free man.

The film co-stars Bill Moseley, Sofia Boutella, Nick Cassavetes, Tak Sakaguchi, and Yuzuka Nakaya. Sono directed from a script by the duo of Aaron Hendry and Rexa Sixo Safai. The film is co-produced by Patriot Pictures and XYZ Films.
