Well, 2020 has been nothing but a crazy year with the COVID-19 Pandemic. However, it’s clear that for some, as Mykel Shannon Jenkins’ Turbo in Undisputed III: Redemption said, “Improvise. Adapt. Overcome”. That is exactly what the stunt industry has done and it’s been a great year. For our final Indie Action Spotlight of 2020, we’re going back to some of the highlights of the year, in particular two videos:

Aaron Toney, a well-respected stuntman, presented fans with a “Worldwide Edition” of the Stunt Challenge, in which we see stunt fighters hitting towards the cameras with other stunt performers taking the impact and hitting towards the cameras, and so on.

This viral challenge became so popular during the pandemic that many stunt teams and performers would get together to do these fun “challenges”. Here are a few examples:

However, one challenge that got a lot of attention was an all-female stunt challenge was known as the Boss Bitch Challenge, led by the amazing Zoe Bell. This was an all-star challenge featuring not only stunt performers but some famous celebrities.

For this edition, we are also paying tribute to our Hall of Famers, the team collectively known as Martial Club. Since 2011, this amazing team of martial arts aces have gained traction not only on YouTube, but the attention would result in the team working with the likes of the legendary Jackie Chan and Michelle Yeoh, major props by Donnie Yen, and work in the TV and film industry.

Congratulations to Andy Le, Brian Le, Daniel Mah and the rest of the Martial Club team for being the first collective team to make it in the 1st WorldFilmGeek Hall of Fame.
