We start with Archenemy, the latest from Adam Egypt Mortimer.
Max Fist claims to be a hero from another dimension who fell through time and space to Earth, where he has no powers. No one believes his stories except for a local teen named Hamster. Together, they take to the streets to wipe out the local drug syndicate and its vicious crime boss known as The Manager.

Triggered is South Africa’s answer to Battle Royale:
Nine friends, all harboring a dark secret, go camping in the woods. After a wild night of partying, they wake up with suicide bombs strapped to their chests, all with varying times on their countdown clocks. They decide to work out how to disarm the bombs or find help – until they discover they can ‘take’ one another’s time by killing each other.

My Summer as a Goth revolves around a teen who spends the summer with her grandparents and falls in love with the goth boy next door. This coming of age dramedy stars Natalie Shershow, Jack Levis, Fayra Teeters, and Jonas Israel.

We wrap things up this week with the family adventure Emily and the Magical Journey.
Emily and her mother live alone after losing her father. She wants to help her mother find happiness and to learn about the father she never knew. When Emily finds a mysterious chest that transports her to a magical world, she meets fantastic and mythical creatures that become her new friends. After discovering her new friends are in danger, Emily must face her worst fear to complete her journey.
The film stars Harriet Slater and Tipper Seifert-Cleveland.
