When a single mom and her two kids arrive in a small town, they begin to discover their connection to the original Ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind. It is widely rumored that the two kids are the grandkids to a certain Ghostbuster.
Carrie Coon, Paul Rudd, Finn Wolfhard, and McKenna Grace star in the film, which will feature original Busters Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, and Ernie Hudson as well as Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts returning to their roles of Dana Barrett and Janice Melznick. Rick Moranis is not returning and Harold Ramis passed away in 2014.
Jason Reitman co-wrote and directed this new sequel, following in the footsteps of his father, Ivan Reitman, who directed the original 1984 film and its 1989 sequel.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife is coming to theaters on June 5, 2020 from Sony Pictures.
