He is finally here. The teaser trailer to the film adaptation of Stephen King’s novel Doctor Sleep has arrived.

A sequel to King’s The Shining (itself a massive hit film in 1980 under the direction of the late Stanley Kubrick), the film focuses on the now adult Danny Torrance, who is still reeling from the events of his childhood. After a long struggle, he becomes sober and his “shining” powers come back as he uses the gift to help the dying at a hospice, giving him the titular nickname. He soon learns that a cult with similar powers have been targeting those who have those powers in an effort to make them suffer before they absorb those powers. When a young girl is the next target, Danny now must protect her before it’s too late.

Ewan McGregor takes on the role of Danny Torrance while Rebecca Ferguson plays the cult leader. The film co-stars Kyliegh Curran, Carl Lumbly, Bruce Greenwood, Jacob Tremblay, Alex Essoe, Emily Alyn Lind, Jocelin Donahue and Zahn McClarnon.

Mike Flanagan helms the film, which has locked in a November 8 release date from Warner Bros. Pictures.
