Everyone’s been asking about it and it’s finally happening when shooting is set to begin in June on Marvel’s Black Widow.
What’s definitely happening is that the script by Jac Schaeffer is already set to go. Scarlett Johansson, who played former KGB spy turned S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Natasha Romanoff since 2010’s Iron Man 2, is returning and Australian filmmaker Cate Shortland is set to direct the film.
Now, it’s been revealed who may be joining Johansson on her solo adventure. Florence Pugh (left), who has been making an impact with her role of real-life former wrestler Paige in Fighting with My Family, has officially signed on to co-star, possibly as a fellow spy.
However, it has been revealed that in talks to join the duo are now the new Hellboy himself, Stranger Things star David Harbour, and Rachel Weisz. However, the roles offered to Harbour and Weisz have not been specified, although it’s being rumored they may play villains. As of now, it is all speculation as it pertains to Harbour and Weisz’s casting.
Black Widow is set to begin production in June for an unspecified date from Marvel Studios.
