“Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.” -Michael Corleone.
Well, it happened when it came to the character of Rocky Balboa. When it was announced that Creed would bring back the iconic Philly- born Italian Stallion, played by Sylvester Stallone, it was great seeing him now as a mentor and now, with the recent release of Creed II, Stallone has announced that the Rocky saga has finally come to an end.
In the above Instagram post, Stallone said that Creed II, which has been hailed with success, is his “last rodeo” and that it was time for Michael B. Jordan‘s Adonis Creed to “take the mantle”.
Creed II scored second place at the Thanksgiving box office with $56 million and is still in theaters. Stallone is currently at work on the final installment of another one of his iconic characters, Rambo: Last Blood.
