Is Ken Jeong (left) set to join in the fight against aliens? Well, believe it!
The Hollywood comedian and former doctor has signed on to join the cast of Occupation: Rainfall, the sequel to the Australian sci-fi drama Occupation, which was recently released a few months ago to good rave.
The original film’s core cast, including Dan Ewing (right), Temeura Morrison, Stephany Jacobsen, Trystan Go, Aaron Jeffery, Zac Garred, and Izzy Stephens all return and are joined by newcomers Jeong, Lawrence Makoare, Vince Colosimo and Tamala Shelton. Original film director Luke Sparke is back to helm the sequel and had this to say about it and casting Jeong:
“We’re building a whole new world with Occupation: Rainfall and to have Ken join the film alongside our awesome returning cast members is mind blowing. I’ve admired his work and his successes for years and can’t wait to see what brings to the project when he arrives here to shoot in October.”
The sequel will be set two years after the original film. The survivors in Sydney fight back in a desperate ground war. As causalities mount, the resistance and their unexpected allies uncover a plot that could see the war come to a decisive end.
Filming on Occupation: Rainfall begins in October for a 2019 release date.
