This past weekend, Warner Bros. unleashed the trailer to the upcoming superhero film Shazam!

Asher Angelplays Billy Batson, a 13-year old orphan who moves to a new foster home, where he makes friends with It‘s Jack Dylan Glazer. After saving him from an attack from some bullies, Billy has found himself worthy of gaining superhero powers from a mysterious being, played by Djimon Hounsou. When Billy says “Shazam!”, he becomes an adult superhero in the form of Zachary Levi, who still has the mindset of his teen alter ego, making this a definite treat.

Mark Strong will play the villain Dr. Sivana. David F. Sandberg directed the film, based on the DC Comics character created by Bill Parker and C.C. Beck. The script was written by Henry Gayden.

Shazam! lights his way to theaters in April 2019.
