Disney’s live action Mulan is about to get a fistful of Yen.

Hong Kong action star Donnie Yen has signed on to co-star with Crystal Liu in Disney’s live-action version of Mulan. The film will mark Yen’s second Disney film, with his first being the hit 2015 spin-off Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, where he played the blind warrior Chirrut Imwe.

In Mulan, Yen will play a martial arts master and officer, Commander Tung, who will serve as Mulan’s mentor.

Niki Caro is directing the film, which has recently been moved back to a March 27, 2020 release date. In the meantime, Yen has just began production on Ip Man 4, his possible final run as the role of the Wing Chun grandmaster whose most famous student was the iconic Bruce Lee.
