Gerard Butler is set to return to the “den”.
In January, Den of Thieves was released and was critically panned and made $57 million worldwide. However, that is not stopping director Christian Gudenast as it has been announced a sequel is in the works.
In the original film, Butler plays “Big Nick” Flanagan, an elite member of the L.A.P.D.’s Sheriff’s Department, taking on a sophisticated group of robbers, which include O’Shea Jackson Jr., the son of rapper turned actor Ice Cube. It is believed that Jackson will also be returning for the second film with original star and producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson serving as a producer on the film.
Gudenast will not only return to the director’s chair, but he will be writing the script for Den of Thieves II. More as this develops.
