With the recent release of Kickboxer: Retaliation, which has garnered mixed reviews amongst the film community, director Dimitri Logothetis gave an update on what is set to be the third (and likely final) installment of the rebooted saga.

Logothetis, who wrote the first film Vengeance and Retaliation, has confirmed that what is now called Kickboxer: Armageddon has completed the script and he will be returning to the director’s chair in March. Filming will begin in Las Vegas. Logothetis, in a recent interview with The Movie Sleuth is confident about what he is planning to bring to the table:

If you like Retaliation, Kickboxer: Armageddon will blow your mind. The kind of fight sequences that I have for this are going to take us to a totally different level. I have a oner planned that’s going to top the oner in Retaliation. It’s going to take us to a completely different level and we’re just excited and we’re just looking forward to having a lot of fun doing that.

Logothetis has also announced that aside from Alain Moussi (left) returning as Kurt Sloane, Mike Tyson (top right) will return as boxer Briggs and Christopher Lambert (bottom right) will return as mastermind Thomas Moore. He also announced that soccer star Ronaldinho will return in the film as Ronaldo. At this time, it is unclear if Jean-Claude Van Damme, Sara Malakul Lane, and Sam Medina will be returning. However, one can guess it’s highly likely, but we will have to wait to see.

As with the previous films, there are real-life fighters expected to be in the film aside from boxing legend Tyson. One idea is to bring back Georges St. Pierre, perhaps in his return as Kavi, who went from friendly rival to a worthy ally in Vengeance. Logothetis has also been talking to MMA fighters Urijah Faber and Cody Garbrandt about being in the film and there is even talks about rap legend Snoop Dogg perhaps making an appearance if you can believe that. Just over a year ago, when the project was first announced, it was rumored that Bollywood actor Ranjha Vikram Singh may be coming onboard too, but that has still been unconfirmed at this time.

Kickboxer: Armageddon is set to begin production in March in Las Vegas for either a late 2018/early 2019 release.
