The live-action adaptation of Image Comics’ character Cowboy Ninja Viking has found its director.

Michelle McLaren has beaten out the likes of Jennifer Yuh Nelson and Rick Famuyiwa to take on the film, which will star Chris Pratt in the titular role and is also producing the film with The Hangover Part II‘s Craig Mazin writing the recent script of the film, which was originally penned by the team of Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese.

Pratt plays the deadliest of the Triplets, a band of Multiple Personality Disorder patients who become a counter-intelligence agent squad. When the Triplets go rogue and become assassins, Pratt’s Cowboy Ninja Viking is given the task of taking on his old comrades.

The film has also locked in a release date of June 28, 2019 from Universal Pictures.
