It is truly returning…in two years.
After breaking the box-office record for the highest grossing horror film in history last week, New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. has finally given the greenlight to a sequel to It.
The sequel, which will revolve around the now-adult members of the Losers Club returning to Derry, Maine to once again face the demonic dancing clown Pennywise, has been given an official release date of September 6, 2019. It co-writer Gary Dauberman has signed on to write the sequel and deals are underway for Andres Muschietti to return to direct.
One thing is for sure. Expect Bill Skårsgard to return to bring the terror as Pennywise. More as this develops.
