A director for the Suicide Squad sequel has finally been found and it’s a good one!

As original helmer David Ayer will focus on the spin-off Gotham City Sirens, Warner Brothers and DC have been searching for a new director and have announced today that Gavin O’Connor, whose recent film The Accountant, scored major rave from critics and fans, will helm the sequel.

O’Connor will also be writing the sequel with longtime collaborator Anthony Tambakis. In addition, O’Connor is currently developing a sequel to The Accountant, which will bring back Ben Affleck as autistic accountant and military-trained expert Christian Wolff.

Warner Brothers and DC are also developing a Joker origin movie to be directed by The Hangover series helmer Todd Phillips, and another film, which would revolve mainly around Joker and Harley Quinn, to be directed by John Requa and Glenn Ficarra.

More as this develops.
