Magnet has unleashed a new red-band trailer to Takashi Miike‘s 100th film, the live action adaptation of the manga Blade of the Immortal.

The film, which did quite well in Japan, stars former SMAP star Takuya Kimura in his most promising role to date. Kimura is Manji, a legendary samurai warrior who has done good and bad. To find penance, he is forced to become immortal until he can kill 1,000 evil men. He gets the chance when a young girl, Rin (Hana Sugisaki), asks him to avenge her father.

Sota Fukushi, Erika Toda, Hayato Ichihara, Kazuki Kitamura, and Chiaki Kuriyama co-star in the film, in which we will see plenty of chopped off limbs and geysers of blood.

A hit in Japan, the film will be unleashed in North American theaters on November 3 from Magnet.
