The Koei video game series Dynasty Warriors is getting a live-action adaptation and there has been speculation recently involving casting.
Roy Chow, who directed the 2014 martial arts film Rise of the Legend, will be directing a live-action adaptation of the popular series, set during the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Producing the film will be Chow’s wife, Christine To, who is known for her scripting duties. The news was announced in 2016, but the film is set to shoot this fall.
Casting has not been announced, but there has been online speculation as Chow recently had dinner with the likes of Han Geng, Carina Lau, and Darren Wang. However, casting has not been officially revealed yet but this is pretty exciting news.
Dynasty Warriors is expected for a 2018 release.
