After a recent announcement that it will finally be released in October, we have been treated to the first trailer to Leatherface, the official prequel to the 1974 classic horror film The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
The film, directed by Inside duo Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury, will revolve around the teenager who will be destined to become the chainsaw-wielding, human-skin sporting titular killer. However, the major twist to this story is that the audience will have to guess who is the future Leatherface as it will be one of three young men who escape a mental health facility and along with a female escapee, take a nurse on a road trip to Hell while being followed by a just as crazy lawman played by Stephen Dorff.
Sam Strike, Sam Coleman, and James Bloor play the suspects in the film as one of them will become Leatherface by the end of the film. Jessica Madsen plays the female escapee with Vanessa Grasse as their victim. Finn Jones, Julian Kostov, and Lili Taylor co-star in the film, written by Seth M. Sherwood, based on both the 1974 original and the 2013 sequel Texas Chainsaw 3D.
DirectTV will unleash Leatherface on September 21 exclusively before its nationwide theatrical release from Lionsgate and Millennium Films on October 20.
