Over the weekend, SyFy Channel has announced the official name of the fifth installment of their iconic Sharknado franchise.
Sharknado 5: Global Swarming, a co-production between SyFy and The Asylum, will bring back heroes Fin Sheperd (Ian Ziering) and April Wexler (Tara Reid) as they lead the charge in an all-out war against their greatest enemy, the Sharknado. However, they will face the Sharknados like no other as they now have targeted cities all over the world.
Joining the duo are returnees Cody Linley, Masiela Lusha, and Cassie Scerbo, the latter who sat out the previous installment, The 4th Awakens, and returns to her role of Nova.
New celebrity cameos include Charo, Chris Kattan, Gilbert Gottfried, Olivia-Newton John, Chloe Lattanzi, Kathie Lee Gifford, and David Naughton.
Sharknado 5: Global Swarming will premiere on SyFy Channel on August 6.
