It looks like the next chapter of the current X-Men saga is not only going full force, but the director and cast have now been set.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix will feature the saga’s creator and producer, Simon Kinberg, taking the reins as director of the film. Officially set to return are Jennifer Lawrence as Raven Darkholme/Mystique, Michael Fassbender as Erik Lensherr/Magneto, James McAvoy as Charles Xavier/Professor X, Nicholas Hoult as Hank McCoy/Beast, Alexandra Shipp as Ororo Munroe/Storm, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, and Tye Sheridan as Scott Summers/Cyclops.

Playing the new big baddie may be Jessica Chastain, who would take on the role of Shi’ar Empress Lilandra Neramani, as negotiations is currently ongoing. K-Pop star and actor Rain was to have taken a role but schedule conflicts have forced him out of the film.

Shooting is scheduled to begin later this month with an official release date of November 2, 2018 locked down from 20th Century Fox.
