Get ready for one heck of a wild ride courtesy of the Troma Team, who has picked up the horror punk rock musical Spidarlings, from director Salem Kapsaski.
Poverty stricken lovers Eden and Matilda have enough trouble just getting through the days…Their Landlord is trying to terrorize them and strange things seem to be going on at “Juicy Girls”, the place where Matilda works…but when Eden buys a pet spider the real troubles start.
The film stars Sophia Disgrace, Rahel Kapsaski, Lee Mark Jones, Rusty Gaffe, and the man behind Troma himself, Lloyd Kaufman. Director Kapsaski actually based the film on some of his real-life experiences, from financial struggles and a ruthless landlord to relentless threats to his family from an unstable individual. He found himself influenced not only by Troma, but John Waters, I Love Lucy, and even the Peanuts cartoons.
The film will make its debut on July 1st on Troma Now, Troma Entertainment’s exclusive streaming service. Check out the trailer, which is a bit NSFW:
