New York, NY – May 29, 2013: Director M Night Shyamalan at the US Premiere of “AFTER EARTH” sponsored in part by Mercedes-Benz at the Ziegfeld Theatre.

It’s safe to say that M. Night Shyamalan (center) is back after the success of his latest film Split (right). The film has a reference to Shyamalan’s earlier success, Unbreakable (left).

Well, this will shock some fans, but the director took to Twitter when a fan asked if Shyamalan will finally do a sequel to Unbreakable, which stars Bruce Willis as a man who unexpectedly is given superpowers. Shyamalan revealed the following:

Glass is an official sequel to both Unbreakable and Split. With the release date locked in, it looks like Shyamalan let the cat out of the bag and it was announced that Bruce Willis and James McAvoy will return with Samuel L. Jackson returning as the titular Mr. Glass along with Anna Taylor-Joy as Casey, who appeared with McAvoy in the recent film.

Those who enjoyed both films will most likely be stoked to see Glass when it comes to theaters on January 18, 2019 from Universal.
