“Captain Marvel” Finds Her Directors

2006 Sundance Film Festival - "Half Nelson" Portraits

Brie Larson‘s Marvel superhero Captain Marvel has found her director…or rather, directors.

The collaborative duo of Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck are set to direct the film as the script, by Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve is still being written. Larson will play Air Force pilot Carol Danvers, who gains super powers after an accident results in her fusing with an alien.

Interestingly enough, the team of Boden and Fleck are known for their character-driven indie films Half Nelson (2006) and Mississippi Grind (2015). They’ve also worked on some top cable rated shows such as The Affair and Billions. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, who is producing the film, recently revealed to TheWrap the outfit Larson will be sporting and fans…it looks to be faithful to her comic book counterpart.

Captain Marvel has scored a March 8, 2019 release date from Marvel Studios.
