Filmmaker Benny Boom‘s biopic of the late rapper and actor Tupac Shakur is coming to theaters in June and Boom released the poster of the film as well.
Named after his fourth album in 1996, All Eyez on Me focuses on the life of the late Shakur, who was not only known for his rapping and infamous war with the likes of The Notorious B.I.G., but his film roles in Poetic Justice and Above the Rim to name a few.
Demetrius Shipp Jr. plays the rapper, who was killed in 1996 after attending a Mike Tyson fight in Las Vegas. Shakur was only 25 when he passed away. Danai Gurira, Kat Graham, Jamal Woolard (who will reprise his role of the late B.I.G. from 2009’s Notorious), Annie Ilonzeh, Dominic L. Santana, and Josh Ventura co-star in the film directed by Boom and written by Steven Bagatourian, Ed Gonzalez and Jeremy Haft.
Summit Entertainment will be releasing All Eyez on Me nationwide on June 16th, which would have marked Shakur’s 46th birthday.
