Back this past May, it was announced that Halloween franchise creator John Carpenter would be returning to the franchise in a producer capacity in which he vowed to make the film its scariest yet. That is still happening with word on who will now tackle the film…and this is where things get interesting.
Pineapple Express director David Gordon Green and co-star Danny McBride (right) have signed on to both write and helm the new film. Carpenter will serve with Green as executive producers and in addition, Carpenter will also be the official consultant of the film.
While McBride’s primarily known as a comedic actor, he will be appearing in the soon to released Alien: Covenant and revealed that he is a lifelong horror film fan. Hey if Jordan Peele can pull it off, why not McBride?
The new Halloween is set for an October 19, 2018 release date.
