Hyun Bin and Yoo Hai-Jin play investigators on opposite Korean sides who join forces in this upcoming action film from director Kim Sung-Hoon.
Confidential Assignment revolves around a North Korean investigator, Lim Cheol-ryeong (Hyun), who teams up with a South Korean detective, Gang Jin-tae (Yoo), to find the man that stole North Korea’s ‘superdollar,’ a notorious, counterfeit American dollar printed by North Korea. The plates used to make the ‘superdollar’ are stolen by North Korean official, Cha Gi-seong, who fled to South Korea. In desperate need of help, North Korean officials contact the South Korean government and – without disclosing why they are looking for him – ask for help in locating Cha. South Korean officials agree to help, but they have their own agenda. Everyone wants to get their hands on Cha and maybe even those ‘superdollars’.
The film will premiere in Los Angeles on January 27, 2017 followed by a U.S. and Canada release on February 3, 2017 from CJ Entertainment.
