UPDATE (1-18-2017):
Kodansha has said that talks with Warner Brothers are still ongoing, but nothing has been concrete in terms of a U.S. live-action adaptation. Thanks to Film Combat Syndicate for the update.

ORIGINAL:

The Titans are coming back! No, we’re not talking about season 2 of the anime version of Hajime Iseyama’s manga, which will debut in April. After two successful live-action adaptations in Japan, Warner Brothers will be unleashing the Titans in a Hollywood remake.

Warner Brothers’ Japan branch handled the live action films there and now, they are looking to expand to Hollywood and already have someone in mind to tackle the story of deadly humanoids known as Titans who wage war against the human race. Who is this mysterious filmmaker Warner wants? David Heyman, who produced the Harry Potter saga along with the hit spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

If the deal gets done, Heyman will direct the Hollywood live-action installment and considering his track record, this brings more positivity and the fact that the characters are of European descent from their names, with the exception of female lead Mikasa Ackermann being half-Japanese, that little controversy known as “whitewashing” can be tossed out the window at this point. Heyman will also be producing a live-action adaptation of the feline-led series Warriors for Alibaba Pictures.

More as this develops!
