After the departure of Tim Miller, it looks like the anticipated Deadpool 2 has finally found its replacement and it’s a damn good one.

David Leitch, co-founder of the 87Eleven Stunt Team and the co-director of the original John Wick, has signed on to replace Miller to direct the sequel to the hit film which will return Ryan Reynolds as the “merc with the mouth”. Leitch was offered the job after meeting with Reynolds in New York to talk about the film.

With Leitch locked down and his experience as a stunt coordinator and fight choreographer, we can expect some amazing action alongside Reynolds’ wit that made the original film a whopping success.

Casting is still underway for the supporting roles of mutants Domino and Cable. It is rumored that the villain known as Taskmaster may be the antagonist in the sequel, but that still has yet to be confirmed.

Deadpool 2 is set to begin production early next year for a 2018 release from Fox.
