Action fans have learned some awesome news in the form of the next film to feature British martial arts action star Scott Adkins (right).
Adkins played a pivotal role in the recently released Marvel Studios version of Doctor Strange and it was announced his next film is titled Accident Man. The film is based on a comic book from the defunct UK-based company Toxic! created by Pat Mills.
Adkins will play the titular man, also known as Mike Fallon. Fallon is a high-class hitman who makes his hits look like accidents, hence the nickname “Accident Man”. However, when his ex-girlfriend Beth is killed by someone within the organization he works for, he begins a rampage to find out who killed Beth and why.
Adkins is leading what can be said to be quite an ensemble cast. The Twilight Saga‘s Ashley Greene has been cast as Charlie, Beth’s new girlfriend, who teams up with Fallon on his mission of revenge. Martial arts action aces Michael Jai White, Ray Park, and Amy Johnston are also appearing in the film. Perhaps we will get to see a rematch between White and Adkins from their classic fight in Undisputed II: Last Man Standing.
Jesse V. Johnson, director of The Last Sentinel and Green Street Hooligans 2: Stand Your Ground, is currently directing the film with Tim Man working as the film’s action choreographer. Man had recently completed work on Stoic, starring Antonio Banderas and directed by Isaac Florentine.
Production is underway for a 2017 release date.
