Eckhart Not Returning for “Fallen” Threequel

A few weeks ago, it was announced that Gerard Butler would be going a round three as Secret Service agent Mike Banning in Angel Has Fallen. However, what will become of Aaron Eckhart (right), who played U.S. President Benjamin Asher?

Eckhart has confirmed that he will not be returning to the role of President Asher, stating, “The President is retired. He’s golfing and he’s amassing his library right now, so… [salutes].”

Angel Has Fallen follows Olympus Has Fallen and London Has Fallen with now Mike Banning becoming the target himself of deadly attackers. There is still no director or even word on if Morgan Freeman will return to his series role of U.S. Vice President Allan Trumbull. Maybe since Eckhart is no longer in the role, perhaps Trumbull will be the President for this installment. Who knows? It is rumored that Air Force One may be playing a central aspect of the film.

Angel Has Fallen is due for a 2018 release date.
