With the recent success of Netflix’s reboot of the legendary Voltron, itself an adaptation of the 1981 Japanese anime Go-Lion, it looks like a long gesturing live-action adaptation is set to finally begin developing with Dreamworks set to give the film a go.
David Hayter, star of the 1994 underrated sequel Guyver: Dark Hero and the screenwriter of films such as X-Men and Watchmen, will be writing the script for the live-action adaptation. Hayter is also known as a famous voice actor, his most prolific role being that of Solid Snake in the Metal Gear Solid video game series.
As of now, there is no director or cast attached, but with Hayter set to write the script, considering his resume, this looks like it could be great. Meanwhile, look out for season 2 of Netflix’s Voltron: Legendary Defender in January.
