The indie action-comedy Paying Mr. McGetty won a few awards at the Melbourne Independent Filmmakers Festival this past weekend in Melbourne, Florida.

The film itself won the award for Best Action Adventure Film and co-star Alissa Schneider won the Female Rising Star award for her role in the film. This adds the recent Best Actor in an Action or Comedy for lead actor R. Marcos Taylor at last month’s Burbank International Film Festival.

The film is the second film from the recently formed Traditionz Entertainment, who bursted onto the screen last year with the anti-bullying family film The Martial Arts Kid. A sequel to that film is currently in development.

As for Paying Mr. McGetty, New York City fans will have the opportunity to see the film on November 12 at the Urban Action Showcase at the AMC Empire 25 Theater in Times Square. For information on how to see this film, go to the Urban Action Showcase Screening Page.
