With the recent announcement that Salman Khan has opted not to play the villain in Dhoom: Reloaded, another Khan has been approached and if the deal goes through, we could see Shah Rukh Khan as the villain.
For those unfamiliar, Shah Rukh Khan is one of Bollywood’s biggest talents. He is nicknamed “King Khan” amongst the Bollywood community with his impressive resume and versatility of roles. While Salman Khan prefers not to play villains, Shah Rukh Khan has had his share of villain roles so if he agrees, considering the reputation of past villain actors John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan, and Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan may be the one to take the reigns to play the slick villain.
According to sources, Ranveer Singh is still the go-to lead who will replace the first three films’ original lead actor Abhishek Bachchan, as ACP Jai Dixit. As for Jai’s bumbling yet reliable partner Ali, a new actor will be cast in the role as Uday Chopra will not return to the franchise. That will not be an issue as Chopra is enjoying success as a film producer today. As for Bachchan, he is still enjoying success as an actor in his own right.
Chopra’s brother Aditya is still serving as producer and has been in talks with Shah Rukh Khan. He said with Singh’s casting as Jai Dixit, the film is geared for a new generation of fans.
Dhoom: Reloaded is scheduled to begin production in early 2017.
