After it was wildly rumored that he would be playing the villain in the fourth installment of the Dhoom film series, Salman Khan has decided not to take on the role of the new villain.
International Business Times has revealed that Khan, who normally plays heroes on screen, wants to keep playing protagonists rather than antagonists to appease the fans. He told DNA India the following:
“I don’t like that genre at all. I don’t want to be a villain. I believe in entertaining the audience. I like playing the hero, a good man who’s memory people carry back home.”
Khan’s most recent film, Sultan, did extremely well at the box office in India, breaking records including highest three-day gross and Khan having 10 films crossing the 100 Rs. crore mark, continuing his record followed by six films that star Shah Rukh Khan.
Dhoom Reloaded is also on the hunt for a new director as the helmer for the previous installments, Vijay Krishna “Victor” Acharya, will be at work on the action film Thug, starring Dhoom: 2 villain Hrithik Roshan and “Big B” himself, Amitabh Bachchan.
Dhoom Reloaded is still in development at this time from Yash Raj Films.
