Those who love the video game-themed animated motion picture Wreck-It Ralph will be pleased to know that a sequel has officially been greenlit.

Disney made the announcement this morning with directors Phil Johnston and Rich Moore appearing via Facebook Live to make the announcement alongside actor John C. Reilly, who is returning to voice the titular character, a “bad guy” in a video game who yearns to be a good guy and does so through the friendship with a young girl from another video game.

The film grossed $470 million worldwide when it was released in 2012 and now, the sequel has also been set in terms of a release date: March 9, 2018.

Wreck-It Ralph 2 replaces the release date of another Disney production, Gigantic, a film inspired by the classic Jack and the Beanstalk with that film now coming on November 21, 2018.
