As we await the release of Kickboxer: Vengeance at the tail end of the summer, word has gotten out on the sequel, Kickboxer: Retaliation, which has begun production in Los Angeles.
As mentioned previously, Alain Moussi returns as Kurt Sloane. However, producer Rob Hickman has announced that mixed martial arts fighter Paige VanZant has been cast in the role of Gamon, a young woman with great fighting and marksman skills and has strong criminal ties.
The sequel will ultimately pit Moussi against Game of Thrones‘ Hafthor Julius Bjornsson, who is known for his role on the HBO series as Ser Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane.
Dimitri Logothesis has written the script and is directing the film, first in Los Angeles before moving to Asia in June.
Kickboxer: Retaliation is scheduled for a 2017 release date as we await the release of the original reboot, Kickboxer: Vengeance on August 19th from RLJ Entertainment.
