The legendary Halloween killer Michael Myers is planning to return next year and he is getting help from the legendary filmmaker who created the character.
In a shocking announcement last night, producer Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions announced that his company will be teaming up with Miramax and Trancas International to make a new sequel to the horror franchise. This comes after Dimension Films lost the rights to the franchise after constant attempts to make another installment.
However, the shocker has come in the form of John Carpenter, who created the iconic horror film character. Carpenter will be serving as executive producer of the new film. He was quoted as saying:
“38 years after the original Halloween. I’m going to help to try to make the 10th sequel the scariest of them all.”
Producing the new film will be Blum and Malek Akkad, whose late father Moustapha had produced the original 1978 film along with seven of its sequels. The plan from here is to get to filmmakers interested as they plan to fast-track production for a Halloween 2017 release date.
