Things are clearly looking up for British martial artist and action star Scott Adkins. Having just wrapped up this past July on the long-awaited fourth installment of the Undisputed fight films, Adkins is already at work on his next film, titled Eliminators.
The project reunited Adkins with director James Nunn, who directed Adkins in 2014’s Green Street Hooligans: Underground. The film is being co-produced by Richwater Films and WWE Studios. When people hear WWE Studios, that means there will be a WWE superstar or diva in the film and in this case, the superstar is the 2015 King of the Ring himself, Wade Barrett. The synopsis is as follows:
A former US Federal Agent must abandon the witness protection program and come out of hiding when his London home is invaded in error due to a wrong address. When the event ends with multiple homicides, the news triggers those hunting him to send Europe’s most dangerous assassin to kill him. Now on the run with his daughters life in jeopardy, a determined father must get her to safety before the people he’s been hiding from tracks him down.
The film’s action is being handled by Chinese-Swedish martial arts ace Tim Man, who had worked with Adkins on choreography for Undisputed IV and prior to that, 2013’s Ninja: Shadow of a Tear.
Adkins recently posted a photo of himself with co-stars Wade Barrett and Daniel Caltagirone and director James Nunn on the London set of the film:
One of Adkins’ greatest fans and now friends, Aaron Gassor, known in the viral world as GingerNinjaTrickster, will be serving as a stunt fighter on the film from this photo from Adkins’ Facebook page, which also has stuntman Dan Styles and fight choreographer Tim Man:
Meanwhile, Adkins has two upcoming films out this fall, Zero Tolerance on December 1 on DVD and Close Range on December 4 in a limited theatrical release. Undisputed IV is currently in post-production for an early 2016 release date. Eliminators is currently shooting with perhaps a mid 2016 release in the works.
